Jesus’s love for us is beautiful. I know my God will never forsake me, never leave me and will always be by my side and with the all-knowing (omniscient), all-powerful (omnipotent), all-present (omnipresent) God, I pull strength from this comfort.
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power, love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV)
Was there a time you experienced fear? Was it motivating fear, telling you to get out of the fire? Or was it hindering fear trying to keep you from making progress and bringing glory to God? What do I do when hindering fear has crept in and tried to take root? I pray for a spirit of power, love and self-control in place of the alternative.
Here is what I have come to learn:
· If I do not try, I have let fear win and thus, Satan.
· If I do try, I may fail or I may succeed.
In either case, success or failure, I will have learned in the process and sought God along the way.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;” Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)
I have made many decisions with fear at the helm and I find it interesting that the word “accept” is the opposite of fear. I am gradually accepting challenges that allow me to face what I thought were my fears. And I have come out on the other side of these challenges changed.
If you too, struggle with fear, making decisions for you, like I do at times, I encourage you to seek God and His divine purpose for you. I pray you will find the strength and comfort to accept that you have a spirit of power, love and self-control through our Heavenly Father.
I praise you Lord for your faithfulness!
