Freedom, God, and Radical Love
Author: Ali Smith
God is the creator of our universe. God is the creator of you and me! Love is an endearment, fondness and attachment. Radical is thorough, complete and profound. Put together, the Maker of our universe and each one of us, has a complete and profound endearment to and fondness for us. Not only did God make us, but also, He loves us without waiver or end. He wants a relationship with us, with you, so that you may receive his love and the understanding of the freedom it can bring.
Thus, says the LORD, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: “I am the LORD, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself…” Isaiah 44:24
And so, we know and rely on the love God has for us, God is love. Whoever lives in love, lives in God, and God in them. 1 John 4:16
This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgement: In this world, we are like Jesus. 1 John 4:17
Freedom is the state of being free. God’s love is freeing. It frees us from something to something. When you are running, you are running from the start line to the finish line. God’s complete endearment is freeing and may be better understood from this reverse perspective, from what was I freed? and, to what am I freed? This freedom allows you to move to something else and is found in God’s love for YOU.
Freedom from seeking the approval of others, freedom from a spirit of fear, freedom from solely seeking guidance in others, and freedom from “beliefs” changing when the wind blows.
Freedom to an amazing God and His radical love for you and me, freedom to a hope and joy, freedom to seek guidance from the Almighty Counselor, freedom to have a passion for reading His divine word, freedom to grow, emotionally and spiritually.
Praise God for this freedom found in Him through his love.
I am loved by my Creator, the one who knit me in my mother’s womb. I feel humbled knowing God intentionally formed me and in this I find great comfort. I pray you will continue to gain a greater understanding of God’s complete love for you.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13
